Students in Ntchisi have been encouraged to dream big and believe in their potential, thanks to an inspiring role-modeling initiative led by the Women Judges Association of Malawi (WOJAM), joined by CRECCOM.
Recently, the initiative brought influential figures to Malomo and Mbomba Secondary Schools, aiming to boost rural youth's confidence and help them envision a future full of possibilities.
CRECCOM’s Executive Director, Alinafe Ireen Chibwana, joined WOJAM in this impactful outreach, emphasizing the importance of self-belief, critical thinking, and surrounding oneself with positive influences.
She urged students to plan for their futures and remain focused, warning against distractions such as child marriage, which often derails young people, particularly girls, from reaching their full potential.
“As youth, it’s easy to be swayed by distractions,” Chibwana said. “Girls, in particular, are vulnerable to child marriage, which can have devastating consequences. Stay focused, pursue your education, and create a better future for yourselves.”
Among the role models was High Court Judge Justice Jean Kayira, who is also CRECCOM board member and a proud daughter of Ntchisi.

She shared her own journey, reflecting on how many young people underestimate their potential, limiting their ability to achieve greatness.
Justice Kaira encouraged students to stay determined, persevere through challenges, and never forget their roots.
She spoke passionately about the sacrifices her family made for her education, demonstrating how hard work and resilience can lead to remarkable achievements.
"Your background should never define your future. With determination, hard work, and education, you can break barriers and achieve greatness", she said.
The impact of the visit was immediate. Princess Phiri and Yassin Said, students in Forms 3 and 4 at Malomo Secondary School, expressed their gratitude, saying the experience had strengthened their resolve to work harder. Both aspire to become doctors and felt newly motivated to pursue their dreams with confidence.
CRECCOM is also implementing the Let Girls Learn II project in Ntchisi and continues to make a significant difference in the district by empowering local support groups and strengthening educational structures.
The project is also empowering Mother Support Groups and engaging youth forums to enhance retention and completion of secondary education.
These groups, supported by CRECCOM-funded businesses, provide essential school materials to students in need, ensuring financial barriers do not stand in the way of education.
By combining mentorship with practical support, CRECCOM is helping to shape the next generation of young people who believe in themselves and their ability to create a brighter future.
