Creative Centre for Community Mobilization (CRECCOM) is a local Non-Governmental Organization that is involved in social empowerment and community mobilization on a variety of social issues in line with its vision and strategic plan which is to see future societies with highly self-motivated citizens who are responsive to ever-changing socio-economic and political pressure for the betterment of their welfare. Since its inception, CRECCOM has executed over 50 projects across Malawi around: i) Education, ii) Gender, iii) Youth Development, iv) Climate Change, v) Health, and vi) Social Accountability.
CRECCOM is looking to take on board Temporary Drivers(6). Applicants to this temporary position should be residents of Zomba.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Driver, the Temporary Driver shall be responsible for:
Driving assigned vehicles per the CRECCOM Transportation Policy and Guidelines.
Ensuring that vehicle use, and transportation of passengers, or goods has been approved by the supervisor.
Ensuring that all trips by the vehicle are recorded in the logbook.
Respecting all traffic regulations at all times.
Ensuring general security of the vehicle and all items or essential equipment present in the vehicle.
Ensuring general maintenance and proper functioning of the assigned vehicle.
Carrying daily and weekly routine checks of the vehicle.
Notifying the supervisor immediately of any repair needed and at least one week in advance of any service required for the vehicle.
Checking every evening the amount of fuel in the car and making sure that the fuel tank is filled up when it reaches the quarter tank.
Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities
Minimum Qualification: Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
Defensive driving course
Professional Driver’s license class ‘P’ and/or ‘P/G’.
More than three years of driving experience
Communication in English is essential.
Good interpersonal skills
Experience in driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
Clean driving license and record
Sober-minded and without a criminal record
